The project began in 2016 - with cold hardy seeds Camellia sinensis, Kolkhida variety from Georgia (ex Soviet Russia). There has been much ground preparation and the seedlings were grown in Scotland as part of the Tea Gardens of Scotland project. The tea plants are now in the ground and the garden is evolving.

Our tea is hand harvested and processed in the Scottish Tea Factory that is within minutes of our garden. You are welcome to rent our holiday cottage and arrange a visit to The Scottish Tea Factory, where you can book a tea tasting experience or course.

The first batch of our black tea was used to produce a Scottish gin distilled with our hand-picked tea leaves creating a 'Special Growers Edition' - The Teasmith Broich Single Estate gin. It is distilled with 12 botanicals including Juniper, Coriander Seed and Orange Peel and when distilled, Broich black tea gives the gin light aromas of honey and apple.
